Visitors can see thousands of inscriptions left behind by the early civilizations that passed through AlUla. But the most impressive writings may be found on the rocks of Jabal Ikmah. This site is considered to be the largest open-air library and dates as far back as the first millennium B.C.
Hegra, in AlUla, is the largest conserved site of Nabataean civilization south of Petra. It features well-preserved tombs with intricate facades dating to the first century B.C. AlUla’s rock outcroppings are also unique evidence of the past. One of the most popular is Jabal Al Fil, or Elephant Rock.
